E261 Trumpet in B-flat with an A slide
Trumpet, Boston Musical Instrument Company, Boston (1913-19).
Identifying mark(s):
“Made / by the / Boston / Musical Instrument / Company” is engraved on the bell. The serial number, 25556, is found on the back of the 2nd valve.
Description:
There are 3 Périnet valves with mother-of-pearl buttons, located at the right of the bell tube. There is a right hand finger rest on the mouthpiece tube, a tuning slide with a knurled collar at first bend, and a water key at the bottom of first bend. The tube enters the 3rd valve. There is a lyre holder on the 3rd valve tube and a valve exit from the 1st valve.

Notes:
There is decorative engraving all over the instrument, including a scene of a building, trees, and a field on the bell below the inscription.
Measurements:
Total length of tube: c. 133 cm.
Bore: 1.1 cm. at the 3rd valve slide.
Bell diameter: 11.5 cm.
Associated mouthpiece:
“THE VEGA COMPANY / 155 COLUMBUS AVE. BOSTON” is engraved on the front of the mouthpiece and “GEORGE MODEL / 2” on the back.
