Steve Barrell
Steve Barrell

Steve Barrell has been a feature performer, lecturer and performance coach for clavichord societies and early music festivals in Europe and the US. In 2002, Steve debuted the newly-restored JA Hass clavichord (Hamburg 1763) for the British Clavichord Society during its annual conclave at the Raymond Russell Keyboard Collection in Edinburgh. His collection of historic keyboard instruments, including the Lindholm clavichord heard in this concert, is considered among the best in the US. A Durham resident, Steve earned the MA in Historic Performance Practices at Duke, and is also employed by the University.
